CST: The Last Frontier

Craniosacral Therapy is rarely the first thing that pops in mind when people think about the healing process, but often times, the mysterious conditions will inevitably lead someone to the Craniosacral System. Many people use nervous system in leu of concepts that lay deeper into the Craniosacral System. Things such as resting, regulation, vitality, and performance are all cupped with Nervous system, but how much do these concepts impact even deeper layers?

When we listen and follow the craniosacral system, we can intteract directly with it. When we reach the still point, we often feel relaxed or regulated. When we offer energy, we heal faster. When we offer to remove energy, we can equally heal faster. When we sit, listen, and follow, we can follow the path of restrictions and limitations that have made their way to the physical manifestation, Beit, dysfunction, chronic pain or ailments.

On occasion, but often times in the chronic conditions, we can follow the path into a Somatoemotional Release. These are global in their manifestation and are often married with mind/emotion and body. This is often true for those that have been to multiple specialists, with little to no luck of relief. How does one explain that the reason for your headaches, has to do with a divorce, and nothing to do with whether or not you are hydrated? How can one prove it time and time again, when every body has lived through different experiences, but even amongst the different experiences and ultimately different outcomes, how is it, that by listening and holding space for a Somatoemotional Release to occur, the outcome is often about integration?

The more I learn about the CranioSacral System and the more I interract with it, the more in tune I feel of my own. I am amazed at how fragile and simultaneously resilient we are. Dr. Upledger laid the foundation to explore the Craniosacral System, giving hundreds of thousands of people relief from otherwise impossible conditions. Though just because a foundation was created, with him having passed away, it is up to us to continue to research and understand this system to better understand ourselves as a healthy, wholesome, humane human being.
